Cirque de Gregory, 2005 aka The Seven Deadly Sins
In 604 AD, Pope Gregory the Great described the Seven Deadly Sins in his Moralia in Job. They are as follows: Avarita (Greed), Gula (Gluttony), Ira (Anger), Luxuria (Lust), Superbia (Pride), Tristia (Sloth), and Invadia (Envy)
I decided to take these ‘sins’ and combined them with the idea of circus posters and twist it up with drag queens. I find that not many people can actually recite the complete list of ‘sins’ so I find that it is amusing that they are still referred to these days. With the Three Ring Circus of politics and organized religion (in my view) what a better combination for subject matter!
